2026 Statewide Campaign

The Maryland Just Power Alliance (ACT, AIM, and PATH) organized for seven priorities in the 2026 Maryland legislative session and won several victories:

Immigrant Protections

  1. Maryland Data Privacy Act (HB0711, SB0504)—passed

  2. Ending 287(g) Agreements in Maryland (SB245, HB444)—passed

  3. Community Trust Act (SB791, HB1575)—passed

Housing

  1. Starter & Silver Homes Act (SB36, HB0239)—did not pass

  2. “Bring Back Main Street” Bill (SB829, HB1137)—passed as a study

Healthy Homes/ Climate Equity

  1. Strategic Energy Investment Fund (SEIF) FY27 Budget Allocation—passed

  2. Utility RELIEF Act (HB1532) (amendments)—some passed
