We supported the Community Trust Act of 2026 (SB791), which passed the Maryland House and Senate!

This important law will stop local and state police in Maryland from collaborating with ICE by notifying ICE or transferring people into ICE custody.

In the 2026 Maryland General Assembly session, we helped pass the Data Privacy Act (HB711) in coalition with CASA and other partner organizations!

Thanks to our work, Maryland passed a 2026-27 state budget that includes $73 million for clean, energy efficient heat pumps to help families save on utility bills, improve air quality in their homes, and reduce pollution!

The Maryland Just Power Alliance celebrated the passage of emergency legislation ending 287(g) agreements on Tuesday, February 17th! These harmful agreements send local police to do the work of ICE.
