2025 Statewide Campaign

Congratulations and thank you for all your hard work this Maryland legislative session!

We were more engaged and had a stronger presence in Annapolis than ever before, and it was the first year that ACT, AIM, and PATH officially came together as the Maryland Just Power Alliance! We played a key role in coalitions that passed three bills which will have a tangible impact on people’s lives.

Annapolis Advocacy Day: Feb 17

On Monday, February 17 in the evening, 127 of us from the Maryland Just Power Alliance (ACT, AIM, and PATH) returned to Annapolis! We met in small groups with 25 of our state legislators and staff to advocate for our policy priorities:

  • The Housing for Jobs Act,

  • Good Cause Eviction,

  • The ReNEW Act,

  • Pre-K expansion, and

  • Protections for immigrants.

Together, we did what we do best: sharing our personal stories with our legislators and building relationships. We bring unique power to the table because we are everyday people in our legislators' districts who can show up and speak about the issues we care about.

Annapolis Advocacy Day: Jan 30

On Thursday, January 30, 116 of us from the Maryland Just Power Alliance (AIM, ACT, and PATH) came to Annapolis to participate in our democracy!

We met in groups with 25 of our State Senators and Delegates and their staff. We asked them to support issues that matter personally to us:

  • the ReNEW Act,

  • the Housing for Jobs Act,

  • Good Cause Eviction, and

  • Pre-K expansion.

  • We also researched policies to protect immigrants.

Nov 17 Statewide Action

On Sunday, November 17th, 729 of us from ACT, PATH, and AIM gathered for our Statewide Action for a Just Democracy!

  • We announced our new statewide collective, the Maryland Just Power Alliance!

  • We committed to standing in solidarity with marginalized people, participating in our democracy, and building relationships with new organizations.

  • We presented the 4 policies we’re advocating for this year in Annapolis– climate (ReNEW Act), housing (Housing Production Targets), renters’ rights (Good Cause Eviction) and pre-K expansion.

  • We gained commitments from the Maryland Comptroller, the Maryland Department of Housing, and 12 state senators & delegates to work with us this year on these issues.
